Florence Miller, 79, of Taneytown, MD died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Westminster. Born January 19, 1933 in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence Shephard Robinson. She was the wife of the late Godfrey G. Miller who died November 25, 2007.
Florence was a homemaker. She enjoyed doing needlepoint, watching wrestling, spending time with friends at the Hesson-Snider American Legion Post 120 in Taneytown, and having breakfast at the Taneytown Gun Club, where she had been a life-long member.
Surviving are sons, Godfrey “Butch” Miller, Jr. and wife, Margaret, of Finksburg; Bill Miller and wife, Tammie, of Taneytown; Garland Miller and wife, Vickie, of McSherrystown, PA; daughters, Joyce Dayhoff and husband, Shane, of Littlestown, PA; and Florence N. Miller, of Littlestown, PA.; sisters, Margaret English, Mary J. Vanderver and husband, Roy, Elizabeth Katka and husband, John, and Leanor Robinson, all of Philadelphia, PA, and Helen Williamson of Delaware; brothers, Andrew Robinson, Dave Robinson and wife, Joyce, and George Robinson, all of Philadelphia, PA; grandchildren, Nicole Tidman, Joel and Jacob Reece, William, Garland, Franklin, Ashley, Rebecca, Godfrey III, Joey, Coty and Liz Miller; and 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2012 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, with John C. Morrill, funeral celebrant officiating. Interment will be at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills, MD at a later date. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
