Fay Leola Minnick, age 68, of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Carroll Hospice Dove House.
Born November 2, 1945 in Oak Orchard, Frederick Co., MD, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Z. and Dorothy L. (Devilbiss) Garber.
Fay graduated from Francis Scott Key H.S. in 1963. She worked for many years in the warehouse of Kessler Shoe Factory, SERRV International at the Brethren Service Center in New Windsor, and retired from Random House in Westminster. She enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers, and listening to country music.
Surviving are siblings, Ralph Garber and wife Ann Marie of Gettysburg, PA, Richard Garber and wife Mary of Union Bridge, William Edward Garber and wife Caroline of New Windsor, Gary Garber and wife Peggy of New Windsor, Dolores Frounfelter and husband Charles of McKinstry Mill, Elizabeth Dell of Finksburg, Carolyn Miller of Taneytown; sister-in-law, Betty Garber of Union Bridge; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by siblings, Maurice Garber and Joan Garber.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. from the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster with Rev. Anne C. Durboraw officiating. Burial will take place in Pipe Creek Cemetery, near Linwood at a later date.
