Evelyn Pauline Springer, age 71, of Taneytown, Maryland died suddenly on Friday, December 25, 2009 at home.
Born August 29, 1938 in Taneytown, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Ruth (Reaver) Staub. She was the wife of Chester L. Springer, her husband of more than 40 years.
Evelyn was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown. She retired in 2003 after working as a presser for English American Clothiers in Westminster for over 20 years. She loved to crochet afghans, bake, garden, and was an Elvis fan.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children, Tammy M. Vetter and husband Kevan of Freeland, Md, Glen L. Springer of Taneytown, Md.; grandson, Ryan Q. Vetter, siblings, Ernest, Ralph,Robert and Mervin Staub, Roseanna Lescalleet, Rhoda Cain, and Mary Colson all of Taneytown, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother Raymond Staub.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown with Pastors Josh and Rachel Semovoski co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8 PM, and Tuesday, 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, and on Wednesday from 1 PM until the time of service at the church.
