Evelyn Agnes Nola, age 83, of Hagerstown, Maryland, formerly of Shrewsbury and Littlestown, Pennsylvania, died peacefully surrounded by her daughters Linda and Dominica and granddaughters, Judith and Michelle on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Julia Manor Healthcare Center in Hagerstown.
She was born February 4, 1931 in Yonkers, New York daughter of the late Christian and Mabel Silberman Welbert.
Evelyn was of the Catholic faith, and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She worked as a food service manager in the Baltimore area and with Howard County School systems, and later retired as food manager with the Hashawa Nature Center in Westminster. For a time she worked at Sarah’s House homeless shelter in Odenton. She loved dancing, crocheting, and cooking.
Surviving her are children, Linda Wintermoyer of Hagerstown, Louis Bonacci, Jr. of Endicott, NY, Evelyn Watts of Shrewsbury, PA, Joseph Bonacci of Annandale, VA, and Dominica Murillo of Baltimore; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by daughters, Judith Linda Bonacci and Cynthia Arampazis; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
A prayer service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD. Burial will follow in the New St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Emmitsburg. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
