Evelyn “Sis” McCay Knecht, age 61, of Pemberton, New Jersey, died peacefully on Monday, May 6, 2013 at Virtua Memorial Hospital Samaritan Hospice in Mount Holly, New Jersey following a battle with multiple sclerosis.
She was born on November 6, 1951 in Mount Holly daughter of the late Edward H. McCay, Sr. and Evelyn (nee Jobes) McCay.
Sis was an archeologist and enjoyed her trips to Egypt, Greece, Mexico, and South America. She was a gifted artist and oil painter.
Surviving her are son, Scott Knecht of California; devoted sister and caregiver, Judy A. Durboraw and husband Richard of Hainesport, brother, Edward H. McCay, II and wife Loraine of Hammonton, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at the Medford Farms Baptist Church, 1631 Route 206, Tabernacle, NJ. Interment will be private.
