Evelyn Armistice Allen, age 86, of Westminster, MD died Thursday, September 8, 2011 at her home. She lived at Carroll Lutheran Village since 2006. She was born Nov. 11, 1924 in Hilldale, West Virginia, daughter of the late Grover and India Light Allen. She worked as a lab technician for Proctor & Gamble.
She is survived by sisters, India Brown of Hinton, WV and Mary Lou Mason of New Windsor, MD; brother, John Allen of Fairfax, VA; also many nieces, nephews and close friends.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 12, 2011, 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster, MD.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors, 130 Temple Street, Hinton, WV with Rev. Ken Price officiating. Friends may call Wednesday 12:00 pm until time of the service at the funeral home in West Virginia. Interment will follow in Pisgah Cemetery in Hilldale, WV.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
