Esther Lippert

Esther Lippert, 85, of Taneytown, MD, died February 18, 2025, at Atlee Hill, Westminster. Born June 11, 1939, in Edgar, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late John Rothenberger and Angeline (nee Turzinski). 

Esther was a caring, loving person and enjoyed taking care of others. Later in life, she became a Geriatric Nurse Assistant and worked in a nursing home for many years. She always put her family first. She was a country girl who enjoyed classic country music, dancing and baking homemade bread and pies. She was a talented crafter, sewing, crocheting, embroidery and more. She was an avid reader and loved doing jigsaw puzzles. She had a rose garden she lovingly tended to. Esther loved to collect angels and now she is an angel watching over her family from Heaven.

Esther is survived by her children, Kathleen Day and her husband Steve of Taneytown, MD., Michael Kropp and his wife Lynda of Merrill, WI., David Kropp of Stratford, WI., Joseph Kropp of Racine, WI., and Geraldine Capito and her husband Ken of Marshfield, WI.; 12 grandchildren; Joseph Kropp Jr., Melissa Kropp, Amanda Kropp, Matthew Kropp, Danielle Kropp, Christine English, Jason Day, Brie Edges, Cheyenne Capito, Kenneth Capito Jr., Noah Kropp and Nevaeh Kropp; and 7 great grandchildren; her sisters, Diane Kasten and Angeline Degner. She was predeceased by her parents, her second husband, Fred Lippert and siblings; Leroy Rothenberger, Marie Wichlacz, and Kenneth Rothenberger. 

A funeral service to celebrate Esther’s life will be held on Saturday March 1, 2025, at 1pm at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, P.A., 136 E. Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD 21787. The family will receive friends Saturday March 1, 2025, at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
