Ercell Paul Brown, age 80, of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House.
Born November 30, 1934, in South Portsmouth, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Charles and Lillie Cooper Brown. He was married to Susan Lawson Brown, his wife of 32 years.
He was a Marine and retired firefighter who served 31 years in the Baltimore City Fire Department. Before moving to Carroll County, he belonged to the Riviera Beach Volunteer Fire Company. He worked for a time as a courier for Carroll County Bank. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, Solitaire, visits to the beach, helping the Greensboro Fire Department, and all things patriotic.
Surviving him in addition to his wife are children, Charles, David, and Donna, Melissa, and Christopher, and their families, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Juanita, Carrie, Francis, Edna, Roxie, Barbara, and brothers Berl, Charles, and George.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 10 a.m. until the time of a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St, Westminster, MD, with Carroll Hospice Chaplain Art Monroe officiating. Interment will be in Crownsville Maryland Veterans Cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
