Emma Louise Rodkey, 64, of Taneytown, Maryland died unexpectedly on Monday, August 8, 2016 at Carroll Hospital in Westminster.
Born March 19, 1952 in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of Dolores (Crowl) Fogle of New Oxford, PA, and the late Floyd S. Fogle, Sr. She is survived by her husband of almost 33 years, Richard “Rick” Lee Rodkey, and by her former husband, Richard Frazier of Taneytown.
Emma was a graduate of Francis Scott Key High School class of 1970, and was a very active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown. A volunteer since 2012 and a Carroll Hospital staff member billing coordinator for close to 45 years, Emma was recently honored by the hospital as May 2016 Outstanding Volunteer. She was chosen for her outstanding work in the Carroll Hospital Auxiliary’s Candy Striper Gift Shop.
Surviving Emma in addition to her mother and husband are daughter, Faith D. Frazier Corwell and companion Terrance Ferguson of Frederick; brothers, Floyd “Jim” S. Fogle, Jr. and partner David Dayhoff of New Oxford, PA, Edward Fogle and wife Lisa of Littlestown, PA; many cousins; and devoted best friend Diane Wilhide and husband Dan of Keymar.
She was predeceased by a nephew, Michael B. (Fogle) Gentry.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown with her pastor, Rev. Cristopher Frigm officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, Taneytown, MD.
