Emma Musser Linthicum

Emma Musser Linthicum, age 82, of Middleburg, Maryland, died peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.
Born August 31, 1926 in Germantown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Henry Marcellus and Mary Elizabeth (Gartner) Musser. She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Robert William Linthicum in 1977.
Emma was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Taneytown, Maryland. She was a retired farmer, and enjoyed her family and trips to Charlestown.
Surviving are sons, Dr. William R. Linthicum and wife Loretta of Taneytown, George H. Linthicum and wife Deborah of Montana, John C. Linthicum of Taneytown, Joseph A. Linthicum and wife Karen of New Windsor, Michael A. Linthicum and wife Patricia of Taneytown; daughters, Mary E. Ridenour and husband Edward of Taneytown, Margaret L. Olive and husband John of Alabama, Rebecca J. Littrell of Taneytown; 27 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Leah Collins of Boyds, Janet Musser of Germantown, Charles Musser, Sr., of Gaithersburg, and Lawrence Musser, Sr. of Gaithersburg.
She was predeceased by siblings, Elizabeth Jacobs, Margaret Kelly, Frances Hiser, Henry, Thomas, Robert, and Ernest Musser.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Monday, April 20, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Taneytown, Maryland, with Msgr. Martin E. Feild as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Taneytown. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, where Rosary Prayers will be recited at 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made in her name to either, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, MD, 21787 or to the charity of ones choice.
