Emma Catherine Baker, 14, of Taneytown died Friday, December 7, 2012 at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore. Born February 17, 1998 in Westminster, she was the daughter of David Suede and Catherine Coale Baker.

Emma was a student at Catoctin High School in Thurmont. She attended St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Westminster. She loved sports, especially softball, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Emma loved to read and enjoyed Nancy Drew games. She recently traveled with her family to Disney World in Orlando, FL, a trip made possible by the Mid-Atlantic Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Surviving in addition to her parents are sisters, Gracie and Hannah Baker of home; maternal grandparents, Bill and Francie Coale of New Windsor; paternal grandparents, Jim and Gladys Baker of Taneytown; maternal great-grandmothers, Jane Coale of Union Bridge and Susie Warner of Frizzellburg; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 17 Bond St., Westminster, MD with the Rev. Lucy Brady and the Rev. Dr. Marty Kuchma officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Taneytown will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Mid-Atlantic Make-A-Wish Foundation, 5272 River Rd., #700, Bethesda, MD, 20816.
