Emelia Elizabeth Carrick, 97, of Fairfield, PA died peacefully on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born February 25, 1921 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Edmund Louis and Anna (Kurian) Eilinsfeld. She was the devoted wife of the late Hugh Bruce Carrick, Sr.
Emelia was a homemaker and worked as a secretary with the State of Pennsylvania for many years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fairfield. She enjoyed painting with watercolors, quilting, cooking, going to the ocean, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her three sons, Hugh Bruce Carrick, Jr. and wife Nadine of Wilmington, DE, Timothy E. Carrick, also of Wilmington, and Gregory J. Carrick and wife Bernadette of Beaverton, OR; sister, Elizabeth Stewart of Carroll Valley, PA; grandchildren, Melissa Carrick and husband Zeke Phillips of Baltimore, Crista Mahoney and husband Michael of Sherborn, MA, and Kaitlyn and Bridget Carrick of Portland, OR; great-grandchildren, Anna and Carrick; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Miriam, Peter, John, James, Dylan, Adria, Zachary, Jordan and Ryan. She was predeceased by her brother, Arthur Eilinsfeld.
Emelia’s family will receive friends at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 256 Tract Rd., Fairfield, PA 17320 from 9:45 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Fairfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Emelia’s name may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church Memorial Fund at the above address. Arrangements have been entrusted to MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Emmitsburg, MD.
