Elvira Castells Grimes, 90, of Timonium, MD passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at her home.  Born June 1, 1928 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Jose Enrrique Castells and the late Victoria Elvira Santiago.  She was the wife of the late Charles E. Grimes, Sr.

Elvira was a secretary for Baltimore County Government’s Road Operations for 28 years.  She was of the Catholic faith.  She enjoyed sewing, traveling, swimming and volunteering for the Senior Citizens Department of Aging in Baltimore County.  She was a member of the Puerto Rican Club.

She is survived by a sister, Miligros of Spain; daughter-in-law, Julia Grimes of Taneytown; 1 granddaughter; and two great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her son, Charles E. Grimes, Jr. and a grandson, J. Matthew Grimes.

A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019.  Burial will be in Deer Park United Methodist Cemetery.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown, MD.
