Ellen “Eileen” Egan, 86, of Emmitsburg died peacefully Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Ministries in Emmitsburg, MD. Born September 3, 1927 in County Tipperary, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late John and Hannah Doherty Geary. She was the wife of Michael Cyril Egan, who died in 1998.
Surviving are son, Michael Egan and wife Betsy of Falls Church, VA; siblings, Matthew Geary, Brigid O’Brien, Nora Donovan and husband Con, and Hannah “Sissy” Williams, all of Ireland; grandchildren, Brigid, Jimmy, and Clare Egan; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 11 at Holy Family Parish, 83 Clove Rd., New Rochelle, NY. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Emmitsburg, MD and Lloyd Maxey and Sons Beauchamp Chapel in New Rochelle, NY.
