Elizabeth “Betty” P. Sirian, age 88 of Westminster, formerly of Timonium, died Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Emeritus at Westminster. She was born April 4, 1924 in Baltimore, daughter of the late Louis and Dorothy Jones Pohl. She was the wife of Ralph Sirian, her husband of 63 years. She was a former member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Baltimore. Betty was a dance instructor at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Baltimore where she met her husband, Ralph. She worked as a surgical nurse at Maryland General Hospital and retired from St Joseph’s Medical Center.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, Robert L. Sirian and wife, Karen G. of Taneytown, Christina D. Sabbow of Laconia, NH and Charles R. Sirian of Finksburg; brother, Charles Pohl; grandchildren, Lisa Stear, Kerrie Houseworth Michael Sirian and Carolyn Sirian; great grandchildren, Jackson and Benjamin Stear.
She was predeceased by her brother, Louis H. Pohl, Jr. and great grandchild, Hailey Sirian.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 22, 2012 at Myers- Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster. Entombment will follow in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium.
The family will receive friends Sunday 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
