Elizabeth Lee Miller, age 96 of Woodstock, Maryland passed away on Friday January 17, 2025. She was born August 10, 1928 to Philip Soneborne and Loretta Anna Walston (née Will), in Baltimore, Maryland. Betty Lee married Martin Boniface Miller on October 28, 1950. Her marriage to Marty for 68 years was the anchor and focus of her life efforts. 

Betty was widowed by her late Husband , Marty Miller. Betty and Marty built their family legacy: the late Michael J. Sr, Mary E. and Roland E. Cumor, Jr., Carol L. and Thomas F. Obrecht, Walter J. and Debra L. Miller, John J. and Karen E. Miller, Kathleen M. and the late J. William Dulaney, Jr., and Jacqueline A. Manelli. Betty is survived by 20 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her “Daddy,” William J. Freburger, Sr., mother, Loretta A., brothers, Philip L. Walston and William J. Freburger, Jr., and dear cousin, Jeanne J. Junghans.

She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Monastery in Baltimore, Maryland and was a parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church for 63 years. Betty lived most of her adult life in Catonsville and Woodstock, Maryland. 

Betty deeply loved her family, friends, church, and was devoted to The Blessed Mother by her deep faith. She dedicated time every day to pray for those who needed the Lord’s attention. Betty enjoyed bowling, dominoes, pitch, traveling, picnics, flowers, Manhattans, cooking meals and baking for celebrations. Her most notable kids meal was The Saturday Night Special: creamed chipped beef and she also made The Best crab cakes. Betty was an avid follower and fan of The Baltimore Orioles. Some of Betty’s greatest memories were made with Marty, Thelma and Hart Miller, and Jeanne and Bob Junghans. Betty loved the great life The Good Lord gave her and loved everyone that touched her all along the way. 

The family will receive family and friends for visitation 1-3 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Harry H. Witzke Family Funeral Home, Inc., 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City (21043) where a Christian Wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the St. Michael Catholic Church, 1125 St. Michael's Road, Mount Airy (21771) with the Rev. Fr. Michael Ruane presiding. Interment will follow the Mass in the church cemetery.
