Elinor Mae (Petry) Click

December 16, 1938 — July 16, 2016

Elinor Mae Click, 77, of Westminster, went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family, following a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Born December 16, 1938 on the family farm in Pleasant Valley, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Herbert J. Petry, Jr. and Anna Elizabeth (Kauffman) Petry.  She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 56 years, Rev. James Click.

Elinor attended Bridgewater College and was a member of the Morningstar Family Church in Thurmont, MD.  She retired in 2000 after 33 years with Random House Book Publishers in Westminster.  Elinor was always very active in church work, and enjoyed cooking, baking, playing the piano, and hosting family events.

Surviving in addition to her husband are son, Floyd L. Click and wife Dru Ann of Westminster; daughter, Gail M. Heartley and husband Glenn of Chincoteague, VA; sister, Dorothy Bryant of Westminster; grandsons, Drew Scott Heartley of Westminster, and Jeremy Heartley of Washington, D.C.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday July 20, 2016 at the Meadow Branch Church of the Brethren, 818 Old Taneytown Road, Westminster.  Interment will follow in Meadow Branch Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD, and from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church on Wednesday.
