Elaine R. Hahn, age 87, of Finksburg, Maryland, died on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
She was born on August 1, 1928 in Baltimore, Maryland, daughter of the late George and Myrtle (Knowles) Tapman. She was predeceased by her husband, John Henry Hahn, Sr. in 2014.
Elaine worked for 25 years in the press box for Western Union and later as a secretary for Bethlehem Steel in Sparrows Point. She was a member of Piney Creek Church of the Brethren in Taneytown, Littlestown Eagles Auxiliary (past president), American Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W. Auxiliary in Littlestown. She loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are a son, John H. Hahn, Jr. and companion Pratoom Capone of Darlington, MD; daughters, Donna L. Haberkam and husband Bernard of Dundalk, and Claudette L. Birchett and companion Maxwell Major of Dundalk; grandchildren, Jennica Rodriguez-Kincer and husband Gregory, Ryan Neff and wife Shannon, John H. Hahn, III and wife Melissa, and Mandy Hahn and husband Brad Willis; great-grandchildren, Corey, Carson, John IV, Lea, and Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Doris Bentley and by a brother, Charles Tapman.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 3-5 p.m. and 7 p.m. until the time of service at 8 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD. Inurnment in Garrison Forest Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Owings Mills will be private.
