Edward M. Harbaugh, age 65, of Fairfield, PA, died on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at his home.
Born November 10, 1943 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late George W. and Goldie Y. (Working) Harbaugh. He was the husband of 33 years to Yvonne C. (Welty) Harbaugh.
Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War from 1965-1971 in the 8th Battalion, 6th Artillery, 1st Infantry Division. He reached the rank of E-5 and was awarded the following medals, RVCM with Dev-60, NDSM, VSM with Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal 0/S Bar (2), and the Vietnam Bronze Star. He owned and operated his own excavating company for over 20 years, and was currently employed as an excavator with W. F. Delauter Co. in Emmitsburg.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are son, Wade E. Harbaugh of Fairfield, PA; brothers, Leon Harbaugh of Fairfield, PA, David Harbaugh of Sabillasville, MD; sister, Cinda Rohrbaugh of Faifield, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a brother, Donald D. Harbaugh.
Graveside services in the New St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Emmitsburg will be private.
Arrangements are by the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
