Edward Louis “Lou” Becker, Jr., 26, of Taneytown died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 in Taneytown. Born March 5, 1986 in Baltimore, he was the son of Edward and Robin Becker, Sr. of Taneytown.
Lou was employed by Maryland Deck and Hot Tubs as a mechanic and builder. He enjoyed science fiction books and movies, camping, collecting license plates, and spending time with family and friends. He dearly loved his daughter, “Rainy.”
Surviving in addition to his parents are daughter, Rain Marie Becker of home; sister, Shannon Becker and companion, Joey Shifflett, of Littlestown, Pa; nephew, Isaak Shifflett; close friends, Mark and Scott Burker, and Fred Poug all of Taneytown; 6 aunts, 3 uncles and several cousins. He was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Allen and Marie Becker; maternal grandparents, Donald Kline and Dorothy Helwig; and an aunt, Cathie Haltner.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
