Edward W. Andrew, Sr

Edward William Andrew, Sr., age 75, of Taneytown, Maryland, died on Wednesday morning, February 27, 2008 at the Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.
Born April 18, 1932 in Ringgold, Md., he was the son of the late Clarence and Edith (Alexander) Andrew. He was the husband of 52 years, to Carrie Marcella (Snyder) Andrew.
He was retired as a burial vault manufacturer and installer with the Babylon Vault Company in New Windsor, Maryland. He worked for 20 years with the Cambridge Rubber Plant in Taneytown as a manufacturer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Hesson-Snyder Post #120 American Legion Taneytown, and the F.O.E. Eagles in Littlestown, Pa.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children and spouses, Edward William and Yvette Andrew, Jr., Carol Lookingbill and devoted friend, Sonny Dayhoff, Susan Andrew and devoted friend Richard Creager; all of Taneytown, Victoria and Marty Lookingbill of Keymar, Gene and Amy Andrew, and John and Pamela Andrew of Taneytown; siblings, Betty Stambaugh, Ruth Shane, Anna Hughes, Belinda Fogle, all of Thurmont, Harriet Burman, Barbara Wantz, and May McNair, all of Emmitsburg, Rose Eyler of Rocky Ridge, Mary Brown of Cascade, George, Donald, Gene, and Paul Andrew, all of Thurmont, Frank Andrew of Rocky Ridge, Sam and James Andrew, of Emmitsburg.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by 2 grand-daughters, Brandy and Dessie Lookingbill, and by a brother, Martin “Dick” Andrew.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, March 1, 2008 from the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, Maryland with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Taneytown. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
