Edna Marlene Green, 94, of Taneytown, MD passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster. Born September 21, 1923 in Tyrone, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ira Allison and Mary Ann (Halter) Rodkey. She was the wife of the late Cecil Charles Green.
Edna worked at Cambridge Rubber Company in Taneytown and Black & Decker Corporation in Hampstead for many years. She was a life-long member of Emmanuel Baust Church in Tyrone, where she loved attending worship services and participating in church activities. She enjoyed reading her Bible, crocheting, camping, boating, collecting hen and rooster figurines, and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are sons, Wayne Green of Taneytown and Weldon Green and wife Judy of Glenville, PA; daughters, Sandra Moelter of Stillwater, MN and Patricia Fogle and husband Jack of Taneytown; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by all 7 of her siblings, Naomi Wantz, Grace Baker, Martin, Luther and Paul Rodkey, and Mary and Ruth Bowers; and son-in-law, Gary Moelter.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Emmanuel Baust Church (Tyrone), 2930 Old Taneytown Rd., Westminster, MD, 21158 with the Rev. Jeffry A. Dull and the Rev. Scott Sager officiating. Burial will follow in Baust Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 1st at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Edna’s name may be made to Emmanuel Baust Church at the above address or to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD, 21157.
