Dorothy W. Sullivan, of Westminster, died Thursday August 14, 2008 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. She was born October 13, 1933 in Sandymount, MD, daughter of the late Wilmer B. and Helen S. Fowble Whittington. She was the wife of Arthur H “Pete” Sullivan III, her husband of 50 years. She was a 1953 graduate of Westminster High School. She graduated from Church Home & Hospital in 1956 and passed state boards in 1957 as a registered nurse and worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital then Springfield Hospital. For a time she worked at the Carroll County Health Dept. She loved camping and traveling especially to Williamsburg, VA. She was a founding member of the Future Nurses Association at Westminster High School. She volunteered and was active with the Roaring Run Lions Club Sight and Eye Screening. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and their friends and sharing family photographs.
In addition to her husband she is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Braden W. and Karen D. Sullivan and daughter and son-in-law Susan S. and Paul H. Noyes all of Westminster; grandchildren, Carianne A. and Tara M. Sullivan and Travis G. and Avery N. Noyes; close friend, Martha Parks of Westminster.
A memorial service will be held at Carroll Lutheran Village, Krug Chapel, 300 St. Luke Circle,
Westminster, Tuesday 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Jimmie L. Schwartz officiating.
Inurnment will be private in Sandymount Cemetery.
