Dorothy Ann Smith

Dorothy Ann Smith, 79, of Manchester, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022, at the Vindobona Nursing Home in Frederick. Born January 1, 1943, in Hampstead, MD, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Lucy Smith, nee Peterson.

Dorothy spent most of her life as a resident of Manchester. She enjoyed spending time with Sue Burris, who was a support provider and accompanied her on day trips and provided daily companionship. Those day trips to West End Daycare were filled with crafts and bus trips. She was close friends with Mary Jane Overby, who was her support planner.

Her favorite celebrity was Elvis Presley, and she enjoyed collecting and playing his music. Her favorite memory was when she visited Graceland with some of her family.

She is survived by sister, Jean Thomas and husband Wayne, of Manchester; brother-in-law, George Boschert of Taneytown; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sister, Anita Boschert.

She will be laid to rest at the Manchester Baptist Church Cemetery along with her mother, father, grandmother, and aunt, on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s name to Manchester Baptist Church, 2933 Manchester Baptist Church Road, Manchester, MD 21102.
