Dorothy L. Schussler, 94, of Westminster, Maryland, formerly a resident of Westminster Ridge, died peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2018 at her home.
Born on February 22, 1923 in Stevenson, MD, she was the daughter of the late Lewis W. and Edna B. (Fiddler) Caple. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Schussler, Sr.
Dorothy was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Westminster. She worked as a bookkeeper for BG&E and MD National Bank, and was retired from the U.S. Postal service as a clerk after 22 years.
Surviving are daughter, Catherine “Cathy” Hoffman and husband Chris of Westminster; son, Michael Lewis Schussler, Sr. and wife Phyllis of Westminster; daughter-in-law, Judith Schussler of Owings Mills; grandchildren, Ken Hoffman, Brian Hoffman and wife JeanAnne, Corrine Beatty and husband Carl, Sr., Michael Schussler, Jr., Tayler, Zechariah, Maria, Wyatt, and Josephine Schussler; great-grandchildren, Rebekah, Christian, Samuel, Benjamin and Kenneth Hoffman, Grace, Carl, Jr., and Rebecca Beatty.
She was predeceased by a son, Thomas J. Schussler, Jr.; infant sister, Catherine Caple; sister, Norma Hess; and brother, Lewis W. Caple, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12, 2018 at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster with Rev. Mark S. Bialek as celebrant. Burial will follow in Druid Ridge Cemetery in Pikesville. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 11th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster. Rosary prayers will follow at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.
