Dorothy May (Wagner) Lookingbill

Dorothy May Lookingbill (Wagner) of Taneytown, MD born on May 11, 1940, in Hanover, PA to the late Claude and Helen (Marshall) Wagner. Dorothy passed away on September 4, 2024, at the age of 84. Dorothy was the wife of the late Charles P. Lookingbill Sr. and loving mother to six children; Kitty Duckworth (husband Kenny) of Abbottstown, PA, Charles Jr. of Westminster, MD, Terry of Littlestown, PA, Bonnie Wantz (late husband Danny) of Taneytown, MD, Stacey Lookingbill (fiancée Jason Smith) of Poolesville, MD, and David (wife Tracy) of Littlestown, PA. Granny, as everyone knew her, loved her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Dorothy leaves behind siblings; Dawn (husband Louis) Small of Littlestown, PA, Linda (husband Roy) Wagner-Melinchak of Palm Bay, FL, Stanley (wife Patricia) Wagner of Hanover, PA, sisters-in-law Charlotte Lookingbill and Dorothy Hostetter of Taneytown, MD and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her late husband Charles, parents Claude and Helen (Marshall) Wagner, in-laws George and Edna (Legore) Lookingbill; granddaughter Christina Myers; grandson Eric Wantz; son-in-law Danny Wantz; sisters, Janet Fogle and Pauline (Polly) Morningstar; brothers Kenneth and Claude Jr. Wagner and her brother in-laws, Glenn, Francis and Earl Lookingbill.

In addition to her family, she adored those she cared for in daycare and Scouts, often thinking of them as her own family. In addition to daycare and Scouts, Dorothy was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Company.

A visitation will be held on Monday September 9, 2024, at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 East Baltimore St Taneytown, MD from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Company.
