Dorothy Beatrice (Rhodes) Hewlett

November 28, 1958 — October 16, 2013

Dorothy Beatrice Hewlett, 54, of Hampstead, formerly of Baltimore, died peacefully Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at home.  Born November 28, 1958 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Wanda Galczynski Rhodes of Taneytown and the late John Wesley Rhodes.  She was the wife of Herbert Nash Hewlett, II of Hampstead.

Dorothy was a 1976 graduate of Notre Dame Preparatory School in Towson.  She was a registered nurse, having earned an A.A. degree in nursing from the Community College of Baltimore County in Catonsville in 1998.  She was employed as a Health Services Administrator by Conmed Healthcare Management, Inc.  Dorothy enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends, watching the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens games, and traveling, especially to Walt Disney World.

Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are daughter, Jennifer Hewlett of Philadelphia, PA; sister, Frances Bertrand and husband Robert of New Oxford, PA; nieces, Elizabeth Rhodes and husband Wesley Stonesifer of Taneytown, and Victoria and Dorothy Bertrand of New Oxford, PA; nephew John Bertrand of New Oxford, PA; and great-nephew, William Stonesifer of Taneytown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St, Taneytown, MD with Monsignor Martin E. Feild as celebrant.  Interment will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Dundalk.  The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St, Taneytown, MD.
