Dorothea Amelia Gross, age 92 of Hampstead, died Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Carroll Lutheran Village Healthcare Center in Westminster. She was born September 13, 1916 in Highlandtown, MD the daughter of the late Edward and Amelia Schmidt Hermann. She was the wife of the late Charles R. Gross. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arcadia. She loved to travel and did so extensively. She had a vast variety of interests and a never ending curiosity. She even published two books about her parents and her immigrant grandmother.
She is survived by children and spouses Charles R. and Mary Gross of Calabasas Park CA; Darius S. and Janet Gross of Hampstead and F. Mark Gross of Berlin, MD; grandchildren, Kirsten, Laura, Kelly and Matthew.
A funeral service will be held at Carroll Lutheran Village, Krug Chapel, 300 St. Luke Circle, Friday 11:00 AM with Rev. Jimmie L. Schwartz officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Arcadia. MD.
The family will receive friends Friday 10:00 AM until the time of service at the chapel.
