Doris Louise Steinberg, 93, of Hanover, PA, died early Tuesday morning, September 19, 2017 at Homewood at Plum Creek. Born June 4, 1924 in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late David E. and Martha V. (Lemmon) Myers. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, William F.”Bill” Steinberg.
Doris was a 1941 graduate of Westminster High School and retired from Baltimore Life Insurance Company. She and her husband did volunteer work at Carroll County Hospital for over 20 years. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Homemakers Club and formerly active in the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 94 in Westminster. She enjoyed traveling, ceramics, square dancing, playing bingo and crocheting hats for newborns.
Surviving her in addition to her husband is her son, Richard W. “Rick” Steinberg and wife, Benedicta of Westminster; sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Myers of Ellicott City and Betty Lou Myers of Bridgewater, VA; a granddaughter, Sharon L. Steinberg Cutsail and husband, Michael, of Cupertino, CA; and great-grandchildren, Michael Cutsail and Genevieve Isabel Cutsail. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Steinberg Long, and siblings, David and Melvin Myers and Barbara Montoya.
A funeral service will be held at 11: 00 AM on Friday, September 22nd at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis Street, Westminster, with Pastor Martha Clementson officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday 6-8 PM and on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service.
