Doris E. Leister, age 81, formerly of Pleasant Valley, died Thursday, January 15, 2009 in Reisterstown. She was born in Carroll County, the daughter of the late Oliver A. and Ada E. Starner Eckard. She was the wife of the late Leroy E. “Ticky” Myers. She had worked as a packer for the Gould Company and was a member of St. Matthew’s United Church of Christ.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne E. and Carlos Castano of Ellicott City and Lana M. and Paul Horichs of Reisterstown; grandchildren, Owen S. Ball of Taneytown and Jennifer H. Frey of Sykesville; also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by siblings, Catherine M. Roop and G. Kenneth Eckard.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 24th, 11:00 A.M. at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster with Rev. David R. Bare, Carroll Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Interment will be private.
