Doris Lovie Jones, 91, of Harney died unexpectedly Sunday, December 15, 2013 at her home. Born November 6, 1922 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Esther Galloway Loving. She was married to the late Charles Boecker and the late Donald Jones.
Doris was a member of Messiah United Methodist Church in Taneytown. She enjoyed reading, playing Bingo, and collecting a variety of things, especially bells. She loved her dogs, Baby and Bear, and she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are daughter, Virginia Hoy and husband William of Harney; son, Charles Boecker, Jr. of Owings Mills; granddaughters, Michele Wilson of Hanover, PA, Elizabeth Haynes and husband Chuck of Fairfield, PA, and Heather Boecker of Owings Mills; 5 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters, Margaret Smith, Gladys Kirby, and Virginia Simpson, and grandson, Thomas Harry, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Messiah United Methodist Church, 25 Middle St., Taneytown, MD with the Rev. Brenda Shields and the Rev. Louis Piel officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St, Taneytown, MD.
