Doris Virginia Garber, 87, of Westminster, MD died peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born January 7, 1930 in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late Louis Venton and Ettamae (Tawney) Garver.  She was the wife of the late Clarence Leroy Garber.

Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked as a Dietary Aide at Westminster Nursing Home for several years.  She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Rosedale, MD.  She enjoyed camping, traveling, and reading. Most of all, Doris enjoyed spending time with her family and was much loved by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are daughters, Nancy Janocha and husband David, Virginia “Jenny” Taylor, and Christine Lynch and husband Rodney, all of Westminster; son, Gene Garber and wife Carol of Taneytown; and Terry Garver of New Windsor, who was like a son to her.  She is also survived by grandchildren, Kathleen Noel and husband David of Hampstead, David Janocha, Jr. and wife Jessica of Westminster, Stephanie Taylor of Westminster, Casie Lynch of Metairie, LA, Melissa Lynch of Westminster, Michele Etzler of New Windsor, and Cindy Stambaugh of Taneytown; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Isaiah, Mason, D’Marcus, Shawnna, Madison, Allie, and Bry; great great-grandchildren Kinlee, Kylee, and Travis; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister, Nancy Boone.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis Street, Westminster, MD, with Pastor Matt Fuhrman officiating.  Burial will follow at Westminster Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
