Doris was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown, MD. She enjoyed being with her family more than anything.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children, Thomas Forney and wife Barbara of Taneytown, Sue Long and husband Thomas Long, Sr. of Emmitsburg, Sandra Cool and husband Wayne of Taneytown, and Kenneth Forney, Jr. of Taneytown; sisters, Anna Margaret “Margy” Myers, Ann Hamburg and husband Sonny, Linda Henning and husband Mike; brothers, George “Jack” Myers, and Sterling “Butch” Myers; sister-in-law, Linda Sayler Myers; grandchildren, Lynn Forney, Thomas Forney and wife Kelley, David Forney and wife Jennifer, Chad Shaffer and wife Kim, Shari Stone and husband David Stone, Jr, Crystal Cool and boyfriend Jonathan Ridinger, Matthew Cool and wife Becky, Shawn Cool, Kenneth Forney III and wife Kelsie, and Meagan Forney; great-grandchildren, Allison, Nathan, Trenton, Chase, Kacey, Kamryn, Christopher, David III, Alexander, Andrew, Kyle, Kaylee, Hannah, Cassidy, and Kinlei; step-grandchildren, Heather Fitzgerald, Stacy Hausler, and Thomas Long, Jr., and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister, Madeline Myers; brothers, Gene, Richard, Donny, and Terry Myers; and great-granddaughter, Brooke.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown MD, 21787 with Father John C. Lesnick as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD.
