Doris V. (Reaver) Feeser, 91, of Westminster, MD, died on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Brightview Westminster Ridge in Westminster.
Born July 29, 1926 in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late Henry C. and Blanche Smith Reaver. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 44 years, Abraham M. Feeser in 1992, and by her grandson, John Wesley Coe in 2017.
She was employed by Westminster Shoe Company until it closed. She retired from MacGregor Printing Company in 1988 to take care of her ailing husband, and returned to work part-time after his passing until 1996. She was a devoted member of Bixler’s United Methodist Church, formerly Bixler’s EUB Church. She served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Ladies’ Aid Society of the church for many years. The church fund raisers found her in the kitchen, making and serving the food items to the patrons of the Strawberry Festival, Yard Sale Luncheon, and Spaghetti dinners. She was famous for her Red Velvet Cakes that she donated to the bake tables at all of the fundraisers. She enjoyed embroidery and crocheting afghans, many of which were donated to The Linus Project.
Surviving are daughter Shirley A. Coe of Westminster; grand-daughter and husband Lori A. and Steven Roth of New Oxford, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters Evelyn M. Nelson and Catherine E. Franklin, and brother Henry C. Reaver.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Bixler’s United Methodist Church, 3372 Bixler’s Church Road, Westminster, MD with the Rev. Blake Smarr officiating. Burial will follow in Bixler’s United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 26th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster, and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
