Donny was a quarryman and driller for Lehigh Cement Company in Woodsboro, MD for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed hunting, caring for his property, being outdoors, spending time in Ocean City, and being with his family. Although he was a member of Tom’s Creek United Methodist Church, he never lost his love for St. Joseph Catholic Church. Special thanks to Father Steve Trzecieski and Pastor Heath Wilson for their visits with him, and to the staff of St. Joseph Ministries for the loving care and many acts of kindness shown to Donny during his stay there.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Vincent Myers of New Oxford, PA, and Anthony Myers and wife Angela of Emmitsburg, MD; siblings, Anna Margaret “Margy” Myers of Emmitsburg, George “Jack” Myers, Doris Forney, and Ann Hamburg, all of Taneytown, Sterling “Butch” Myers of Gettysburg, and Linda Henning of Hagerstown; grandchildren, Vynessa Myers-Meixner, Aleia Myers-Brown, and Amanda Myers; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Elly, and Easton; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Madeline Myers, and brothers, Eugene, Richard, and Terry Myers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Emmitsburg, at 11 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2015 with the Rev. Charles F. Krieg, C.M. as celebrant. Interment will follow at Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD.
