Donald “Donnie” David Staub, 79, of Taneytown passed away peacefully on Monday, December 20, 2021 at his home. Born January 1, 1942 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Daniel and Epha (Speak). He was the high school sweetheart and husband of 43 years to Yvonne Elizabeth Staub nee Shryock, married May 7, 1978.
“Donnie”, had previously worked at Westinghouse Electric Corporation, 3M and retired from Carroll County Board of Education, Maintenance Department. Affectionately known as “Mr. Pontiac”, Donnie loved classic cars and attended many car shows. He was a member of Antique Automobiles of America for many years. He was also a long longtime member of Monocacy Lodge #203 of the Masons, Western Maryland Shrine Club, and the Boumi Temple Shrine. He and Bonnie enjoyed going on many cruises together.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sister, Geraldine Clingan; sisters-in-law, Barbara Staub and Patty Shryock-Smith and husband Michael, four legged family, Raven, Bentley and Maggie. He was predeceased by brother, Terry Staub who passed away this May.
The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, P.A., 136 East Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD 21787. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at the funeral home with Msgr. Martin Feild officiating. Interment will follow at Keysville Union Cemetery, Keysville, MD.
