Diana Fuss Skiles, age 65, of Taneytown, Maryland, died Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the Brethren Home Community at Cross Keys in New Oxford, Pennsylvania.
Born October 26, 1944 in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Oneida M. (Fuss) Skiles.
She was a lifelong member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown. Diana was a 1962 graduate of Taneytown High School, and a 1966 graduate of Gettysburg College with a degree in history. She worked for the National Park Service as an historian. She loved animals, and was a very charitable and giving person, who was loved by all who knew her.
Surviving are brother, John M. Skiles and wife Linda of Gettysburg, PA; sister, Karen S. Dutterer and husband Travis of Gettysburg, PA; nieces, Dawn S. Favata of FL, Jodi S. Devchand of NJ, and Pamela D. Medwid of MD; nephew, J. Keir Skiles of MD; 6 great nieces and nephews; and an uncle, Granville Skiles of MD.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 East Baltimore St., Taneytown. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, October 1, 2010 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown with Pastors Josh and Rachel Semovoski co-officiating. Private interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Taneytown.
