Delores Kathleen (Lescelleet) Embrey

Delores Kathleen Lescelleet Embrey passed away on December 31, 2022. Born June 12, 1943, she was the daughter to the late Merle Lescelleet and Edna Romaine Ness, nee Wantz. She was the loving wife to Samuel Larry Embrey; to whom she was married to for 50 years.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She was a big fan of Elvis and country music. She rooted for the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles. She was a long-time member of the Church of the Ascension Episcopal Church. She was active in several church activities, especially Pins & Needles. For many years, Delores and Larry could be seen walking everywhere in Westminster, from Walmart, to the mall, to activities at the Ag Center. She was greatly loved by her husband and friends, and we will all miss her dearly.

Surviving in addition to her husband are sisters, Charlotte Knighten and Nancy Cannon; brothers Wayne Ness and Leo Ness; step-sisters, Betty Petry and Joan Bammon; nieces Terry Shane and Doris Morris; nephews Ralph Morris, Jr., Paul Morris, Douglas Stitely, Brian Stitely, Michael Morris, and Mark Morris. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by step-father, Paul Ness; step-sisters, Nancy Warehime and Catherine Littinger; step-brother Charles Ness, Jr., and nephews, Robert Morris and Bruce Morris.

The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 a.m., on Thursday, January 5, 2023, with a funeral service to begin at 11 a.m., at the Church of the Ascension Episcopal Church, 23 North Court Street, Westminster, MD 21157. Interment will be private.
