Delbert Elsworth Hood, 89, of Westminster, MD, died peacefully on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born November 27, 1931 near Smallwood, MD, he was the son of the late Wilbur Thomas and Marie Gertrude (Barber) Hood.
Delbert was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He worked as a hospital attendant and orderly for both Springfield State and Clifton T. Perkins Hospitals in MD.
Surviving are sisters, Betty Cornett and husband Arnold of Westminster, and Nancy Ward and husband Wilburn of Finksburg; and brother, Robert Hood of Baltimore. He was predeceased by brothers, Raymond and James Hood.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 5, 2021 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 p.m. at Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church Cemetery, 961 Johnsville Rd., Sykesville, MD with Pastor Thomas Cantville officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to help the family with final expenses may be made to the funeral home.
