Dean (Hess) Reindollar

December 7, 1924 — February 24, 2015

Priscilla Dean Hess Reindollar, 90, of Taneytown died peacefully Tuesday, February  24, 2015 at Lorien Nursing and Assisted Living Center in Taneytown.  Born December 7, 1924 in Emmitsburg, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Loy Elmer and Carrie (Hockensmith) Hess.  She was the wife of the late Henry I. Reindollar, Jr., to whom she was married for 52 years.

Dean was a music educator in Frederick County for 28 years, spending most of those years at Thurmont Middle School.  Prior to her teaching career and after her retirement, she taught piano lessons from her home.  She passed along her love of music to scores of young people.  Dean was a life-long member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown, where she was very active serving on the church council, various committees, and as substitute organist.  Throughout the years, she accompanied many vocalists and instrumentalists in church and in schools.  She was also a member of the Silver Fancy Garden Club, the Republican Women’s Club, and a Bridge club.  Dean was masterful at serving large family dinners.  She loved traveling, learning Spanish, completing crossword puzzles, and attending the opera and musical theater.

Surviving are children, Joan Linkswiler and husband Ron of Salisbury, MD, Richard Reindollar and wife Ann of Hoover, AL, Robert Reindollar and wife Sherl of Statesville, NC, and Paul Reindollar and wife Rosemary of San Diego, CA; sister, Myra Ann Hilterbrick and husband Lamar of Ellicott City, MD; sister-in-law, Catherine Mueller of Salisbury, NC; son-in-law, Jim Lane of Matthews, NC; grandchildren, Rachel and Matthew Linkswiler, Andy Palmer and wife Amy, Whitney Palmer, and Jason and Jonathan Reindollar; great-granddaughter, Ali Palmer; four nieces; and one nephew.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Miriam Lane.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W. Baltimore St, Taneytown, MD.  Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.   The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St, Taneytown, MD.
