Dawn Susan Buell, age 51, of Finksburg, Maryland, formerly of Gettysburg, PA, died suddenly on Saturday, May 8, 2010 as a result of being struck by a car while walking her dog near her home in Finksburg.
Born April 24, 1959 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late James M. and Lillian M. (Giesler) Buell.
She was a 1977 graduate of Westminster High School. Dawn worked as a bank teller with Carroll County Bank and was currently employed with New Windsor State Bank. For the past few years she has been the loving and devoted caregiver to her sister Gwyn. Dawn loved and cared for all types of animals, enjoyed collecting antiques, and shopping.
Surviving are her brother James M. Buell and wife Karen, of Westminster, sister Gwyn L. Buell, of Finksburg; long-time boyfriend Jeffrey Young of Gettysburg, PA; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Caballero, Todd Grimes, and Holly and Mandy Buell; great nieces and nephews, Bryson, Skylar and Maddox Caballero.
She was pre-deceased by a sister, Lynn Carol Young.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, with her pastor, the Rev. David L. Meador, officiating. Interment will follow in the Carrollton Church of God Cemetery in Finksburg.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
