David E. Parsons, 68, of Horntown, VA, formerly of Maryland, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at home.
Born March 9, 1942 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Harvey E. Parsons and Gladys “Jo” Utz Parsons Holmes. He is survived by his wife, Helen L. Parsons.
David was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was employed as a plumber for Gartland Plumbing before owning his own business. He enjoyed fishing and boating and was an avid reader of God’s word.
Surviving him in addition to his wife are daughters, Dawn M. Parsons of Hampstead and Kimberly L. Hughes Sthal of Gettysburg; son, Dale A. Hughes of Mesa, AZ; sister, Deborah J. Fritz of New Windsor; and 4 grandchildren, Joshua and Holly Keene, Christopher E. Kemenczes and Meghan O’Connell. He was predeceased by brothers, Lloyd and Harvey Donald Parsons.
A funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM on Friday, January 7, 2011 from the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster with Pastor Chuck Buettner officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
