David George Olson, 76, of Walkersville, Maryland, died on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at his home.
Born on December 3, 1940 in Homestead, PA he was the son of the late George and Justine (Tichon) Olsavicky. He is survived by his wife Joan E. Olson.
David was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and currently worked as a chemist at Barrick Quarry in Woodsboro. He enjoyed crossword puzzles.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Jody Ann Reck and husband Jeffrey of Raleigh, N.C., Sean David Olson and wife Dorothy of Adamstown, Shannon Marie Ogburn and husband Steve of Walkersville, Brian David Olson of Butler, PA, Jamie David Olson of Elkridge, and Eric David Olson and wife Patricia of Highland; grandchildren, Ryan, Kalee, and Kara Olson; brother, George Olsavicky and wife Eleanor of Munhall, PA.
He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Olsavicky and sister, Beatrice Bartko.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown with Father John F. Lesnick as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Taneytown.
