David Matthew Miller, 84, of Taneytown, MD died Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital in York, PA. Born September 3, 1930 in Keyser, WV, he was the son of the late William and Violet Baker Miller. He was the husband of Louise Shorb Miller, his wife of 61 years.
David was a life-long farmer in Carroll County. He was a contract school bus driver for Carroll County Public Schools for 56 years. He enjoyed life on the farm, collecting hats and farm toys, and spending time with his wife and family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter, Cheryl Hemler and husband Robert of Hanover, PA; son-in-law, Edward Saunders, Sr. of Taneytown; grandchildren, Edward Saunders, Jr. and wife Krystal, and Andrew Saunders and wife Elisabeth of Taneytown, and Christopher, Matthew, Daniel, and April Hemler of Hanover, PA; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Kaylee Saunders, and Dylan Moore; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter, Teresa Saunders, brothers, Robert, William, and Donald Miller, and sisters, Pauline Miller and Marian Little.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W. Baltimore St, Taneytown, MD, with Pastor Stacy Marsh officiating and Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. assisting. Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St, Taneytown, MD.
