David “Lucky” L. Hewitt, age 69, of Orrtanna, PA, died suddenly on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at his home.
Born November 27, 1940 in Emmitsburg, MD, he was the son of the late Harry Henry Columbus and Hilda Lorraine (Hardman) Hewitt. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Louise Elaine (Ness) Hewitt.
He worked in construction as a dry wall hanger for many years. His greatest joy was raising his granddaughter, Stephenie L. Hewitt, who was the light of his life.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Lisa Hewitt of Chambersburg, PA, Laura Hewitt of Hagerstown, MD, Keith Hewitt of Shippensburg, PA, Kevin Hewitt of Gettysburg, PA; step-children Holly Demmitt of Etters, PA, and Stanley R. Bolen, Jr. of New Oxford, PA; sisters Louis Fellows of Michigan, Sandra Hutton of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., Shannon Puciato of Gettysburg, PA, Donna Wetzel of Hanover, PA, Sharon Stone of Alabama, and Laurel Hewitt of North Carolina; brothers, Ronald Hewitt of Gettysburg, PA, James Hewitt of Emmitsburg, MD, Eric Hewitt of Gettysburg, PA, and Kerry Hewitt of Fairfield, PA.
Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchilden, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Dennis Hewitt.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 25, 2010 from 3-6 p.m. at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 West Main St., Emmitsburg, MD. Services and interment will be private.
