Daryl "Chummy" Smith

Daryl Clifton “Chummy” Smith, 50, of Emmitsburg, MD, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick.  Born February 2, 1970 in Bethesda, MD, he was the son of the late Donald and Kathleen (Arney) Smith.  He was the husband of Angela (Cool) Smith.

Daryl was a truck driver for various local companies.  He enjoyed crabbing, fishing, kayaking, flying drones, operating remote control cars, and spending time with his family.  He loved to pull pranks and had a great sense of humor.

Surviving, in addition to his wife Angie, are son, Jake Smith of Sabillasville; daughter, Christina Hansen and partner Steven Topper of Emmitsburg; grandson, Teddy; siblings, Steve Smith and wife Heidi of Rockville, Kathy Paulsgrove and husband Gerry of Monrovia, and Donald “Smitty” Smith and wife Gina of Frederick; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother, Mike Smith.

Arrangements are private, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and have been entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Emmitsburg.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to help defray final expenses may be made to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, P.O. Box 308, Emmitsburg, MD 21727.
