Darlene V. Bowers Sundgren, age 61, of Carroll Valley, PA, died on Friday, April 20, 2012 at her home, following a long illness.
Born November 26, 1950 in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of Audrey V. (Roop) Bowers Rohrbaugh of Keymar, MD, and the late Robert F. Bowers, Sr. She is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Michael “Mickey” A. Sundgren.
Darlene worked at various sales clerk positions during her work career. She loved gardening, bird watching, reading, and time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her mom and husband, are children, Sandi Wilson Luzier and husband Ben of Keymar, Stacie Wilson Newman and husband Shane of Hanover, PA, and Sherri Wilson Lewelling and friend Bo LaGrave of Taneytown; step-children, Kerry Garrett and husband Josh and Jessica Rodgers and husband Mark both of Martinsburg, W.VA; former son-in-law, Daniel Lewelling, Sr. of Taneytown; grandchildren, Kyle, Tabytha, Kaitlyn, Tori, Daniel, Jr., Dalton, Emilie, Mason, and Lizzy; step-grandchildren, Trish and Heather; 4 step-greatgrandchildren; brothers, Robert F. Bowers, Jr. and wife Carol and Richard E. Bowers and wife Linda both of Keymar, MD.
Also surviving are special friend, Beverly Fair Spicknall; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Keysville Union Cemetery in Keysville. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
