Darlene Mae Burr

Darlene Mae Burr, age 67, of Westminster, MD died at Carroll Hospital Center on March 4, 2025. Born January 21, 1958, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Olive Whitaker. She was the loving wife of Ernest Burr, together for 50 years.

Darlene worked for many years at McDaniel College as an administrative assistant in the Graduate and Professional Studies Department. She was humorous, selfless, and caring, expressing love through acts of service and gift giving. She enjoyed a variety of crafts making lovely floral arrangements, scrapbooking and much more. She was a spiritual woman of faith. Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother.

Besides her husband, Ernie, she is survived by her children, Eric Burr and wife Amanda of Boyertown, PA and Britt Burr and wife Lauren of Frederick, MD; grandchildren, Nora and Henry Burr; siblings Jim Moter, Judy Thorton, Jeannie Pierce, Linda Richmond, Lee Whitaker, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Charlie.

A funeral service will be held at Bethel Assembly of God 1125 Frederick Pike, Littlestown, PA 17340 on March 11, 2025, at 12 p.m. the family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
