Daniel "Bill" William Jones, Jr

Daniel “Bill” William Jones, Jr, age 67, of Littlestown, formerly of Fairfield PA died on Monday August 7, 2023. Born August 23, 1955, in Frederick MD, he was the son of the late Daniel William Jones, Sr. and Christine Rosella (Howard) Jones and loving husband to Joanna Goeckeritz (Myers) Jones.

Bill devoted most of his life to a career in social work, working 37 years at Scott Key Center in Frederick, MD, focusing on the enrichment of life and independence for individuals with special needs. He was a devoted husband and very involved with the lives of all his children and grandchildren. Bill’s faith enabled him to have an enthusiasm for life and a healthy balance of work, family, and relaxation. He was known for sharing humorous stories and had a contagious laugh when someone told him a funny memory or joke. Vacationing at the beach, playing his saxophone on special occasions, planning annual class reunions for the Francis Scott Key Class of 1973, watching sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys were some of his favorite past times. He had a zest for great quality food and restaurants, and an appreciation for the musical and theatrical arts. Bill was an active member of The Chapel in Littlestown, PA. and was active in many area communities over the years.

Surviving in addition to his wife Joanna are; daughters, Catherine “Katie” Felicia (Jones) Stewart and husband Andrew, and Heather Christine Jones; five grandchildren, Isaiah Daniel, Meadow Rosella, Dalen William, Oliver Nehemiah, and Betsy Nanette; daughters through marriage, Leanna (Goeckeritz) Kikuta and husband Chad, Melissa (Goeckeritz) Willke and husband Nick; three grandchildren through marriage, Ayla, Logan, and Archie; sisters, Diana DeMarr and husband Sam, Rose Hill and husband Clarence; nephews, John Sollers and Christian Hill; great niece Autumn and great nephew Achilles; many beloved cousins, extended family and friends

The family will receive friends at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 136 E. Baltimore Street, Taneytown MD 21787, on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 10-12. A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m.
