Daniel Peter Quinn

July 9, 1938 — March 18, 2014

Daniel Peter Quinn, 75, of Emmitsburg, MD died Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at York Hospital in York, PA.  Born July 9, 1938 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late James and Helen Frazier Quinn.  He was the husband of Madelon Wiggins Quinn, to whom he was married for 52 years.

Dan was a realtor with ReMax Realty in Mt. Airy and Long & Foster in Frederick County for many years.  He previously worked as a construction supervisor.  He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Emmitsburg.  He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family.  Dan had a heart for the poor and the unborn.  He was a caring pro-life advocate.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Michael Quinn and wife Deana of Gettysburg, PA, Susan Quinn Sherrick of Libertytown, Karen Johnson and husband Christopher of Westminster, Margie Harp of Frederick, Stephen Quinn and wife Christina of Thurmont, and Sister Dominic Quinn, O.P. of Nashville, TN; sisters, Helen Dragonette, Rose Marie (Quinn) Ali, and Vivian (Quinn) Ward; brothers, James, David, John "Jack", William, Patrick, and Philip Quinn; 20 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by sister, Loretta (Quinn) Bucci, and brothers, Robert, Edward, Joseph and Bernard "Barney" Quinn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St., Emmitsburg, MD with the Rev. John J. Holliday, C.M. as celebrant.  Interment will follow at New St. Joseph Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Friday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD.  The rosary will be shared at 7:15 p.m.
